Queen of Handling It

tips and tricks Oct 09, 2022

Being a critical care flight nurse I’ve learned how to make important decisions quickly, multitask, prioritize the important things, and shift quickly from one thing to another.

But that’s also a flaw.

Sometimes I get too far down and when one more thing is added to my plate I just crumble.

Anyone else feel like this?

I use these abilities in everyday life like this.

Bachelorette is playing in the background, I’ve got a face mask on, making my breakfast and my greens all at the same time.

I’m able to shave off some time by doing all of the simultaneously. None of these things require me to focus 100%

I also know when it’s time to focus on something. And for me, that’s my lifting sessions. I make sure this is MY TIME. My phone goes on do not disturb, I put on a good playlist, and turn it all the way up. I do my best to not look at my phone and really focus on what I’m doing.

This is my “therapy.” Lifting heavy things, CHALLENGING myself, PUSHING past what I feel like I’m capable of, STRUGGLING.

THIS IS SO EMPOWERING MENTALLY AND PHYSICALLY.

So when you are just going through the motions, sometimes you’re not as effective as you want to be.

And something like working out, if you are taking time out of your day to do this, you want to focus and put your effort into it. Otherwise, why waste your time?

I would rather put 100% effort into my workouts 2-3 days a week, than give half ass effort daily.

So what are some things that you FOCUS on, and what are things you can multitask with??
