How to make your morning workout a success

It is hard to make things convenient.

If we tell ourselves exercise is inconvenient, we often don't see a way to make it more convenient. If you dig down and ask yourself why it's inconvenient, what would you say?

I don't have time before work
I am too tired after work
I don't want to shower at the gym
I always forget something I need

IS IT really that inconvenient? Or are you just too rigid to try to change?

Let's talk about going to the gym before work. What are the steps you need to take to get there?

You need to pack your gym bag with everything you need to get ready for work the next day.
Pack what you need for the gym.
Pack your work bag and food for the day.

You can do all of this the night before. I have a dedicated bag that I use for the gym that has an extra set of shower supplies in it just so that I don't have to worry about forgetting anything.
I pack all my clothes in there the night before. I even go so far as to put it in my car or by the door.
I pack all my food for the next day the night before. Even putting it in my lunchbox.
Lastly, I pack my work bag the night before and put it by the door.


Getting to the gym before work CAN be inconvenient, but it doesn't have to be. Getting everything ready the night before allows you to fall asleep knowing you have everything. It allows you to sleep in longer since you literally just need to put clothes on and leave. Speaking of which, I lay out my gym clothes the night before too.
 

The MORE that you can do to SET UP your environment for SUCCESS, the more you will be SUCCESSFUL.

We make time for the things that are important to us, but if you continue to find reasons why it won't work, then maybe it's just not that important right now.

 

Is it inconvenient to shower after your workout?  Then what about working out at home?  What about trying yoga instead where you don't get as sweaty?

Do you lack motivation after work?  What about changing into your gym clothes before you leave work?  What about having a pump-up song or playlist?

Do you always forget something?  Then go get a duplicate so you can make a bag and just leave it in there.

MAKE IT EASY FOR YOURSELF!  Where there is a will, there is a way.
